Design Story

A cast iron plate marked STANDARD and 45 LB. dissolves into a human skull, the plate's centre hole becoming the eye socket. The transition is handled through heavy stippling and etched texture, so the metal grain and the bone surface share the same drawing language. Tone does the work here: chalky whites lift the upper arc of the plate, mid-grays carry the cranium, and deep blacks let the lower jaw sink back into the garment. A small GYMISH wordmark sits beneath as a quiet baseline anchor, closing the composition without competing with it.

Fit & Wear

Placed large and centre-chest, the graphic uses the oversized fit as its frame — the wide shoulder line and dropped seam give the circular emblem room to breathe, with generous negative space around all four edges. Because the artwork is monochrome on black, the darkest tones fall away into the garment and only the skull and lettering hold, which keeps visual weight balanced rather than heavy. It styles flat and unfussy: shorts and trainers, or layered under an open overshirt with the emblem framed by the opening.
