Design Story

The composition reads in two registers. Above, the word MUSCLE sits solid in a weathered gold serif, its letterforms broad and grounded. Below, MOMMY is drawn in outline only, so the word becomes a frame instead of a statement — and into that frame step two mirrored tigers, rendered in fine black linework with striped bodies and tails curling upward like brackets. The eye enters at the gold, drops through the transparent second word, then settles in the narrow gap where the two animals meet. That gap is the tension point: they face each other, still, neither advancing. Symmetry does the work that motion usually does.
