Design Story

The composition is smarter than the joke suggests. A grey checkerboard arch frames the skeleton like a poster background, giving the artwork a hard edge to push against instead of floating loose on black. The skull sits dead centre as the focal point, jaw open, ribcage fading into distressed halftone below. Arched collegiate lettering reading NIGHTMARE crowns it; BEFORE COFFEE anchors the base. And then the single burnt-orange cup breaks the entire monochrome scheme — one warm note in a cold palette, and your eye goes straight to it. That is the whole trick, and it works.

Fit & Wear
