Design Story

The figure is rendered in a chalky bone-white tone that reads almost like dried paint. Ribs fan outward in uneven arcs, arms folding up toward the head in a gesture that could be agony or shelter. Fine vertical drips run down from the ribcage, dissolving the anatomy into streaks before it reaches the hem line. Nothing is clean here. The linework is scratched, corroded, deliberately imperfect, and that roughness is what gives the image its atmosphere. Against a flat black ground, the contrast does all the heavy lifting: no colour, no background noise, just one pale shape and a lot of dark space around it.
