Design Story

Beneath the type sits a headless rider in muted slate green, cloak lifting, a grinning jack-o'-lantern held high with small flames curling from its stem. A haunted house glows with warm amber windows, bare branches reach across the frame, and two more pumpkins burn quietly at the base. Bats drift near the roofline. The palette does most of the work here — desaturated greens and greys against a near-black ground, with orange used sparingly as the only real light source. Small vintage-poster details fill the negative space: "EST. 1869" and the line "THE PLACE TO REST A WEARY HEAD," a joke delivered with a completely straight face.

The graphic runs long and vertical, centred on the chest and tapering into the lower panel, which suits an oversized silhouette — the extra fabric gives the scene room instead of cropping it.
